Daysi Marin, co-founder of Dreams Film Studios and Executive Producer of its major projects, is deeply engaged in community endeavors. Arriving in California in 1986 amid her home country’s civil war, El Salvador, Daysi overcame language barriers, earning a high school diploma before graduating in computer engineering from Los Angeles City College. She furthered her skills in real estate, obtaining licenses in California and Utah, enjoying 14 successful years in those markets before relocating to Houston in 2011, where she established Dream Films Studios.
With 17 production credits under her belt, including notable projects like “Left Turn” and “Beyond the Regime,” Daysi, alongside her husband Mauricio, leverages her media and marketing expertise for community enrichment. Holding positions such as Vice-President for the Texas Democratic Women, she actively contributes to local governance, serving on the Citizen Board for Constable 3 Nabil Shike’s office.
Daysi’s commitment extends to organizing large-scale events like the Colombian Festival, Hispanic Heritage Festival, and Dia del Salvadoreno Houston Festival, which collectively drew over 75,000 attendees. Additionally, she has served as a Precinct Chair for 6 years and is a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar in Fort Bend County and Harris County, fostering civic engagement in Houston.
Despite her business achievements and raising two children, Daysi remains focused on her vision, united with her husband in pursuit of their dreams. Their journey transcends borders, symbolizing hope and resilience as they continue to make a positive impact in their community
