Daysi Marin is a Houston-based community leader, media executive, and nonprofit advocate with over 25 years of experience empowering the Latino community in the United States. Born in El Salvador, she arrived in the United States with a vision to create bridges between cultures and give voice to the Hispanic community.
She currently serves as President of Día del Salvadoreño Houston, one of the largest and most recognized Salvadoran cultural organizations in the United States, which annually celebrates Salvadoran heritage and culture through large-scale community events that draw thousands of attendees from across Texas and the nation.
As CEO of Se Habla Español News, Daysi leads a bilingual media platform dedicated to informing, educating, and connecting the Spanish-speaking community in Houston and beyond. Under her leadership, Se Habla Español News has become a trusted voice for the Latino community in the Greater Houston area.
Community Impact
Throughout her career, Daysi Marin has been a tireless advocate for civic engagement, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. She has organized large-scale events including the Día del Salvadoreño Houston Festival, which has grown into one of the premier Hispanic cultural celebrations in Texas, attracting over 75,000 attendees annually.
Her commitment to civic participation extends to her work as a Precinct Chair and Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar in Fort Bend County and Harris County, where she has helped thousands of community members exercise their right to vote and participate in the democratic process.
